Fractions are fine for the human eye. Decimals are what the software expects. If a template calls for 0.3125 inches and you type 0.3, you've introduced a 0.0125-inch error—small on its own, but multiply it across 20 grid squares and your final line drifts by a quarter of an inch. That's how a label loses its border, or a printed grid stops being trustworthy.

What I'd Buy in Your Situation

If you run a small team that prints under 100 pages a week and wants predictable ink costs: get the HP Deskjet 2755e, embrace the HP+ subscription, keep full-sheet label stock for shipping, and print graph paper on demand. If you run a larger office where finance audits per-page costs and the printer gets used all day: buy the HP 3630, skip the subscription, and accept that it costs a little more at the register because it will cost less over a full year of printing. The $60 printer with the $15 short-life cartridge, the $40 label maker with the $25 tape roll, the "free" graph paper that runs on office ink—the real cost is whatever someone left off the first quote.
